Istanbul has a very rich water heritage dating back more than 1,500 years. This heritage includes installations such as tunnels, aqueducts, distribution stations, water towers, reservoirs, fountains and bathhouses, as well as the cultural and social traditions associated with them.
Istanbul-SU (Su means water in Turkish) aims to map Istanbul’s historical water-related installations in order to make the complex networks of water supply systems visible and increase knowledge about them.
