A small mosque was built within the Reservoir of Aspar. It does not survive into the present, as the reservoir was cleared in 2012 to be transformed into a park.
Müller-Wiener (1977) claims it was added in the 16th century by Suleiman I, however, his listed sources - von Hammer 1822 and Forchheimer & Strzygowski 1893 - do not mention any building activity by Suleiman. Only Forchheimer & Stryzgowski claim that a small mosque was built in what they call "Tschukúr bostan" (Çukurbostan, "sunken garden" a name given to overgrown cisterns). Only the mention of the Sultan Selim mosque in its proximity indicates that this is in the same neighbourhood as the Reservoir of Aspar.
