Due to the lack of a construction inscription, the exact date of the completion of the hammam is unknown. However, due to similarities with Mimar Sinan's Mihrimah Sultan Bath in Edirne, it could have been constructed between 1506 and 1507. The first sources mention the hammam in 1507.
Parts of the column of Theodosius were incorporated into the bath's foundations after the column collapsed in 1517; this led Müller-Wiener to conclude that the hammam could only have been built after 1517 (Müller-Wiener, 1977, p. 385-386).
