Whether or not the Tezgahçιlar distribution chamber dated to the Roman period and was part of the Hadrianic waterway cannot be established. However, it was certainly part of the waterway that became known as the Forty Fountains waterway when it was further expanded between 1554 and 1563 by the architect Sinan.

Nowadays only the top of the water distribution chamber’s brick dome (kubbe) can be seen, the rest of the building is below the current ground level. The walls were built of cut stone and the rectangular dome was built with bricks. The gallery from which the water came enters the chamber from the direction of the main door and the exit galleries are located on the wall opposing it. Incoming water is filled into a measuring box.
