description

Justinian took measures to avoid being besieged in his own palace as happened during the Nika riots in January 532. The Chronicon Paschale, Malalas and Procopius all attest the building of a cistern within the Palace.

comments
Its location is not known, but it should be in the area of the Imperial Palace (east of the Hippodrome).
