The Mahmud Han Fountain (also named Tophane Fountain after the neighborhood in which it is located ) is the highest and third largest fountain in Istanbul. The four sides of the fountain, which are entirely covered in marble, are identical in terms of architectural detail. The fountain features an inscription surrounding the entire structure including a poem by the poet Nahifi
