description

Cistern below the Nakkaş carpet store, now used as an art gallery. Located at Nakilbent Sk.

There is a (now blocked) low rectangular opening, topped by a stone lintel, at the south end of the east wall (Crow et al., 2008, p. 140). This cistern was modified; alterations include replacement of several columns in the cistern with tapering brick and stone piers and repairs to the vaulting which involved the introduction of pointed arches (Crow et al., 2008, p. 117).
